My Story
How I got to where I am today
I’ve always been drawn to cameras, especially photography. When I was younger, I carried a disposable Kodak point-and-shoot film camera everywhere. To this day, I have photo albums filled with pictures I took of family trips, my friends and random things I thought were interesting.
But as I got older, photography took a backseat and I fell in love with video. Starting a video production company in 2015 with a primary focus on weddings. Over time, that grew to include commercial work, and eventually more than 250 weddings. Working in those environments meant learning how to handle pressure, read people quickly, and adapt to every kind of personality and family dynamic imaginable. When you're on a large production or shooting one of the most important days of someone's life, the margin for error is small (to put it lightly).
Working with every personality type and family dynamic you can imagine under some pretty intense pressure. I mean, it’s only one of the most important days in someone’s life.

Fast forward years later and I’ve come back full circle to where it all started, Photography. Having spent thousands of hours shooting weddings and working with commercial clients has shaped how I work today. I know how to stay calm, work efficiently, and adapt when things don’t go exactly as planned. Whether it’s someone who’s uncomfortable in front of the camera or a family with energetic children, my job is to create a space where you feel comfortable and taking photos happens naturally.

Outside of photography, I’m a husband and a father of two. Being a parent has only reinforced what I learned through years of client work. Patience matters. Flexibility matters. And real moments matter more than forced ones.

Light and Iron Photography is the result of all of that experience coming together. Experience in video, weddings, commercial work, and family life with one simple goal. Today I'm based in Nashville, Tennessee, creating honest images with intention, that feel true to the people in them.

I'm here if you have any questions or are in the Nashville area, let's talk over a cup of coffee.
